Background

Growing up, I watched plenty of films and television that inadvertently conditioned my brain to look for a story in everything. From the people I encountered during my visits to amusement parks to the Jolly Rancher wrappers left in the park, I created adventure stories and dramatic narratives all in my head. Soon after, I started drafting snippets of dialogue in my diary to materialize my ideas.

While attending the University of Washington in Seattle, I learned all the skills needed to bring those words to life. I created several short videos for various organizations and small businesses, where I learned how to draft a screenplay, hold casting sessions, film with a DSLR, and edit on Premiere Pro and Audition.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, I discovered new ways to understand the impact of a product on an audience as a freelance web developer. Granted, these were technical resources for technical purposes, but the foundations were the same. Creating personas, researching environments, and conducting A/B tests pushed me deeper into the world of user analysis and led me to discover what affects us as humans. These practices encouraged me to focus on the purpose rather than just the content, which made me a better storyteller.

Now, with my experience as a production coordinator for an ad agency, my passion for stories, and my background in technology, I aim to create fresh and relevant content that embraces diverse perspectives while keeping up with our ever-changing industry.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my background! If you’ve come this far, you might as well check out some of my work below to see my experience in action.
